The illustration series for The Legend of the Flying Dutchman was first published in the early 1990s and recently digitally remastered for the 2017 reprint by one of the leading Russian publishing houses Detskaya Literatura. Toward the end of 2016 publishers approached me with the idea of reprinting the book. Unfortunately, original art for this project has been lost, so I proposed to digitally repaint a set of test-prints from the original production. This project is very memorable for me — it was my last work done in Russia before immigrating to the United States in 1993.
